Here are 3 examples from my shopping adventures. I hope this helps some of you with using coupons. Things to remember BOGO is Buy One Get One, Q's is coupons, Manf is manufacture, and wyb is when you buy.
1- Shredd’s 15oz tub butter normally $1.99
each
BOGO
@ 1.99
bought
4 = $3.98
Q’s used:
3
manf .30/1 = 3 x .60 (doubling) = 1.80
4
store .55/1 = 4 x .55 = 2.20
Total
is 1.80 + 2.20 = 4.00
butter
(4) = $3.98 minus Q’s 4.00 = +.02 (overage)
SO, Publix paid me 2 cents to buy 4 tubs of
15oz butter
2- Oreos (normally $3.99) & Oreo
Cakesters (normally $3.39)
Oreos
on sale $2.99
Bought
3 of each: Oreos 2.99 x 3= 8.97
plus Cakesters 3.39 x 3= 10.17 = $19.14
Q’s used:
3
manf $1/1 cakesters = 3 x 1 = 3
3
wyb oreo get Cakesters for free (means 3.39 x 3) = 10.17
Oreo/Cakesters
(3 each) = $19.14 minus Q’s 13.17 = $5.97
$19.14 vs $5.97 (oreo 1.99 x 3 = $5.97)
3- Kotex pads & tampons (normally $3.41
each)
Bought
2 of each ($3.41 x 4) = $13.64
Q’s used:
1
manf $2/2 Kotex pads = 2
1
manf $1.50/2 Kotex tampons = 1.50
2
store BOGO on Kotex pads and/or tampons
= 6.82
4
store .75/1 Kotex pads and/or tampons = 3
Total=
13.32
4
pad/tampon combo = $13.64 minus Q’s 13.32 = .32
Which is 8 cents each
